Privacy Policy

We keep this simple. Blueprint Prepared runs on reader trust — so we’re going to tell you exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and what we don’t do with it. If you have questions, use the contact page.
Who We Are
Blueprint Prepared publishes preparedness news, gear reviews, and self-reliance guides at ThePreppersBlueprint.com. We’re an independent editorial operation, not a retailer or a data company. We earn commissions when readers buy through paid links on this site — that’s disclosed wherever it applies.
What We Collect
What You Give Us Directly
When you use our contact form, you provide your name, email address, and your message. We use that information to respond to you. That’s it. We don’t add you to a marketing list without asking first.
What Gets Collected Automatically
When you visit the site, standard web technology logs things like your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and how long you spent on them. This comes through cookies and analytics tools. We use it to understand how the site is performing — not to build a profile on you.
Cookies
Three kinds of cookies operate on this site:
- Essential cookies — keep the site working. You can’t opt out of these without breaking functionality.
- Analytics cookies — measure traffic and page performance (via Google Analytics). No personally identifiable information.
- Affiliate tracking cookies — set when you click a paid link. These let the merchant confirm a referral and calculate our commission. They don’t collect your personal information beyond what’s needed for the transaction.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Some site features may not work if you do.
How We Use Your Information
We use it to run the site, answer contact form submissions, and understand what content is useful. We don’t sell your data. We don’t hand it to advertisers. We don’t use it to serve you behavioral ads.
Affiliate Data Flows
When you click a paid link and buy something, the merchant or affiliate network sets its own cookies to track the sale. That transaction data flows between you and them — we only see commission confirmation. We never receive your payment details. Each merchant operates under their own privacy policy.
Third-Party Services We Use
- Google Analytics — anonymized traffic data. Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
- WordPress & Hosting — standard server-level access logs.
- WPForms — contact form submissions stored on our server only.
- Affiliate Networks — Amazon Associates and others listed in our Affiliate Disclosure. Each has its own privacy policy.
How Long We Keep Your Data
Contact form messages are kept up to 12 months, then deleted unless there’s an active correspondence. Analytics data follows the platform’s default retention (26 months for Google Analytics). We don’t hold payment data — that never passes through us.
Your Rights — GDPR (European Readers)
If you’re in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, get a portable copy of it, and object to processing. To exercise any of these, contact us via the contact page using the Privacy / Data Request option. We’ll respond within 30 days.
Your Rights — CCPA (California Readers)
California residents can request to know what personal data we’ve collected, ask us to delete it, and confirm we’re not selling it (we’re not). To submit a request, use the contact page and select Privacy / Data Request. We don’t discriminate against anyone who exercises these rights.
Children’s Privacy
This site is not intended for anyone under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child submitted personal information through this site, contact us and we’ll delete it promptly.
Security
We use standard security practices to protect the data we hold. No online system is perfectly secure — but we take reasonable precautions and will notify users if a breach affects their rights as required by law.
External Links
We link to external sites — including affiliate partners. Once you leave this site, their privacy policies apply, not ours.
Updates to This Policy
If we change something material, we’ll update the date at the top and note what changed. Continued use of the site means you accept the updated policy.
Questions
